The delightful Darebin Creek Trail runs 25km from outer Northern Melbourne along the Darebin Creek to the near inner city. The trail completely avoids roads offering a safe and pleasant path whether for recreational cyclist or for walkers communing with nature.
However, to the south, the trail falls 1.8 km short of connecting with the Yarra Trail. The final missing link has been the subject of much controversy culminating in a hearing at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. At this time, the final designs for this missing link are in preparation but there is no budget allocated yet to build it!
Join our build Darebin Yarra link campaign, to lobby for completion of the trail. Tell us how you would use the link and shared trail if and when it is completed.
Completion of the Darebin – Yarra link will realise a long held dream and will connect communities, schools and families via a scenic and safe pathway that is sure to become a nature lovers trail.
